Lorraine Pennell

DURHAM-Lorraine Lee Pennell, born August 17, 1927 in Henderson, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.

A lifelong resident of Durham, NC, she was predeceased by her parents, Garland and Annie Lee, and her siblings Mary Shelton, Marie Barnes, Anne Hoke, Bill Lee, and Faison Perry. She is survived by her four children, Carol Dodson (Keith), Cindy Dean (Joe), Thomas Pennell (Patty), and Connie Steigerwald (Joe); seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A lover of travel, gardening, and spending time with her family, Lorraine will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Olive Branch Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Tim Wheeler. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
