CARPENTERDURHAM Mrs. Louise Ivey Carpenter, 92, of Oxford, died on Friday, February 17, 2012.Mrs. Carpenter was born on April 23, 1919 to the late Leonard Gaston Ivey and Cherry Julia Walker Ivey. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Carpenter. She is survived by five daughters, Joyce Penny of Durham, Frances Carpenter of Creedmoor, Fannie Sturchio of Wake Forest, Glenda Reid of Durham and Virginia Carpenter of Middlesex; two sisters, Beulah Hayes of Dillon, SC and Dixie Wilkins of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Stuart Aycock. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Chavis, Barry Ray, Chris Bond, Rob Wade, Bobby Roberson and Ken Phipps.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Joyce Penny, 1913 Fletchers Chapel Road in Durham.
