Louise Knight Mitchell

CARY Mrs. Louise Knight Mitchell, 88, a former resident of Durham, died on Monday, July 9, 2012.Mrs. Mitchell was a native and lifelong resident of Wake County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl Powell Chappell. She worked as a seamstress in her early years and still enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. She was a former member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and was a devoted member of the Benevolence Group. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosemond Edward Mitchell and her daughter, Dolly R. Hurst She is survived by her granddaughter, Tina Holder and husband, Emmett of Apex and great-grandson, Dustin Kyle Holder of Apex.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Forehand will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.at Hudson Funeral Home.
