Louise Lovic Rigsbee

Louise Lovic Rigsbee passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9^th, 2024. Born on April 14, 1935, in Farmville, NC to the late Ralph Lovic and Rosa Lovic.  

Lousie spent her childhood, and early teenage years growing up in Farmville, NC where she attended grade school until her senior year, when she moved to Durham, NC, and finished High School at Durham High in the Class of 1953. Shortly after graduating High School, Louise met the love of her life, and married her husband, Austin.  

Louise and Austin would go on to work together in radio, managing several radio stations including the very prominent Country music station WTIK in Durham, NC. Louise also, along with her husband, would go on to work as concert promoters, and managed “Austin Rigsbee’s Country Shindig’, a very popular Country Music production company that produced countless country music shows throughout the late 1960’s, 70’s, & 80’s, headlining the most popular acts of the time, as well as befriending many of the artists through the years.  

After retiring from show business, Louise would go on to found “K-Dawn Travel”, an exclusive, and very successful tour company, bringing joy to so many people during their travels for almost 30 years. 

Louise was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Creedmoor. 

Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband Austin, and her beloved grandson Shane Wilkins. 

She is survived by her daughters Sharyn Rigsbee, and Kaye Davis; her grandchildren Chris Wilkins (Lara), Chad Wilkins, and Tiffany Davis; great-grandchildren Ashlyn Wilkins, Carter Wilkins, and Caden Wilkins. 

The family would like to give special thanks to Duke Hock Family Pavilion, and the wonderful staff who took incredible care in making her transition was as peaceful as possible.  

According to her wishes, a private grave side service is being held for Louise.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Louise’s memory to Bible Baptist Church, 2047 Gate 2 Rd., Creedmoor, NC 27522.
