DURHAM- Lula Johnson Parrish , 94, of Durham passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2016 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Parrish was born January 6, 1922 and was the daughter of the late David Parker Johnson and Alma Coats Johnson.
She moved to Durham in 1944 and went to work with Liggett Myers Tobacco Company and worked 30 years retiring in 1974.
She was married to the late Ralph Belvin Parrish of Catsburg for 53 years and is survived by their son Michael Ralph Parrish and wife Kay of Durham.
Mrs. Parrish was from a large family. Deceased siblings include Fannie Belle Johnson, James Parker Johnson, Retha Maie Johnson, Brant Atlee Johnson and is survived by siblings Richard Glen Johnson (Lou), Annie Merle Montague (Gene), Billy Hayes Johnson (Rita Mae) and Dorothy Johnson.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Leigh Michelle Bandi, Jeffrey Michael Parrish, Bianca Nicole Curtis and six great-granchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Greg Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services at Hudson Funeral Home.
