Mabel Gurley Funderburk

DURHAM Mrs. Mabel Gurley Funderburk, 88, of Durham, died on Monday, March 17, 2014.
Mrs. Funderburk was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Charlie Gurley and Sally Rich Gurley. She was employed with Burlington Industries, West Point Pepperell and J. P. Stevens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther C. Funderburk.
She is survived by her two grandsons, Greg Sloan and Jason Sloan; one sister, Shular Hicks of Belmont; great-grandson, Austin Sloan and great-granddaughter Kennedy Sloan and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Services will be held at Hudson Funeral Chapel due to the weather at 2 p.m.
Flowers are acceptable.
