Margaret McDaniel Thompson

DURHAM Margaret Hollis McDaniel Thompson, born February 17, 1924 to Lacy and Cordelia Adams McDaniel, left this world for her place in heaven on Saturday, December 20, 2014.

She is survived by her companion of 33 years, Charles Carmack; son, Wayne Thompson; son Terry Thompson and wife, Martha; daughters, Annette Dean and Joyce Tipton; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Lester Thompson, and husband, Daniel Thompson.

Her love for gardening gave her immense joy, especially her rose garden. She was so kind and sweetly spoken; she touched so many in her 90 years on earth.

Funeral services will be held at Hudson Chapel on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm, Rev. David Grissom officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Dean, Jerry Carmack, Bobby Willoughby, Ronald Bailey, Michael Cooley, and Mike Cooley.

The family will receive friends at Hudson Funeral Home 1 hour prior to the service from 1-2 and at other times at Mrs. Thompson’s home, 803 Watts Street. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
