Margaret “Peggy” May

DURHAM Mrs. Margaret Ann May, 91, of Durham, died on Sunday, December 17, 2017. She moved to Durham from Miami, Florida in 1992.

Mrs. May was born in Wheeling, W. Virginia to the late James and Elizabeth Diegmiller Garvey. She was a member of Hope Valley Baptist Church. Peggy was a Pink Lady volunteer at Baptist Hospital in Miami for over 25 years. Peggy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sharon May; brother, James Garvey and sister, Elizabeth Ricker.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert May, Richard May (Valerie), David May (Lois Cooksey); grandchildren, Stacy May, Teresa May, Andrew May, Erin May Cunningham, Rachel May, Benjamin May and Matthew May; great-grandchildren, Jackson May and Grant Cunningham; and many other loving family members.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Rev. Bill Bigger will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
