Mark Allen Hicks, Sr.

Durham- Mark Allen Hicks, Sr., 85, of Durham died on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. He was the son of the late Wyatt George Hicks and Ruby Jones Hicks. He retired from IBM after 20 years of service, was a Durham Police Office and member of Durham Masonic Lodge #352, Scottish Rites and a Shriner with Sudan Temple. Mark served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Fusion Point Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, O’Nell F. Hicks; sons, Mark Allen Hicks, Jr. and Gary Ferrell; daughters, Carolyn Hicks Bridgewater, Connie Dupree, Debbie Fisher and Paula Ray; grandchildren, Monica Hicks, Mark Wayland Hicks, Kaitlin Hicks, Christina Bradley, Chris Ferrell, Matthew Ferrell, Amanda Taylor, Jeffery Taylor, Keaton Fisher, Kollin Fisher, Jenna Ray, Evan Ray, Lauren Bobrowski and Lindsey Watson; several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Dr. Gerald Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Anthony Bishop, Richard Ray, Gary Ferrell, Stanley Barriault, Keaton Fisher and Bill Hart.
