Marlene Virginia Dorman, 93, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024. Mrs. Dorman was born in Durham County, North Carolina on April 29, 1931, to the late James Prentice Ange and Ruby Olivia Dunn. 

Marlene was known for her dedication to her church for over 80 years and was the oldest member to date. She will also be remembered for her devotion and love to her family. 

In addition to her husband, James Dorman, she is preceded in death by 2 sisters; Jean Pulliam and Ruth Brewer; three brothers, Gerald Ange, JP Ange, and David Ange.

Mrs. Dorman is survived by her children, Becky Vollers (Jimmy), Donnie Dorman (Sandy), Sue Dorman, Naomi Dorman, Lila Oakley (Barry), and Ruby Brinn; brother, Clyde Ange; sister, Faye Ange. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at RTP Community Church on 1727 Ed Cook Rd.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Brinn, Ronnie Funderburk, Steven Oakley, Michael Buchanan, Brandon Oakley, James Dorman, Ronald Clark, and Dylan Funderburk. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Vollers, Donnie Dorman,Jr, Barry Oakley, Jackson Funderburk, and Donald Funderburk. 

Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to RTP Community Church (PO Box 11236 Durham, NC 27703)
