Martha Ada Hunt Hill

DURHAM- Ms. “Martha” Ada Hunt Hill, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 2, 2019.
Ms. Hill was born on December 29, 1930 to Marvin and Sallie Hunt in Orange County, NC. She enjoyed watching birds and cooking cakes, especially around the holidays. Martha loved flowers, but most of all she loved her family. She was a strong-willed woman with a great sense of humor, who will be deeply missed by all blessed to have known her.
Ms. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.C. Hill; daughter, Rose Hill Moore; brothers, Marvin Hunt, Jr., and Clarence Hunt; and her sister Patsy Benefield. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Hill (Susan) of Creedmoor, NC, Thomas Hill (Carolyn) of Rougemont, NC, Joseph Hill of Durham, NC, and John W. Hill (Barbara) of Burlington, NC; her daughter, Sheila Hill of Durham, NC; sisters, Ola Evans of Hillsborough, NC, Clara Hill of Hillsborough, NC, Carolyn Smith (Brantley) of Durham, NC, and Shirley Walker (Howard) of Mebane, NC; she is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Mt. Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
