Mary Ann Watson Tate

CREEDMOOR- Mrs. Mary Ann Watson Tate, 89, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Duke Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Tate was born June 2, 1929 to the late Zack and Lillie Watson in Roxboro, NC. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, flowers, gardening and going to the flea market. She loved her dog “Lillie”. Mrs. Tate will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother and friend.
Mrs. Tate is preceded in death by her husband, James Guy Tate; parents, Zack and Lillie Watson.
Mrs. Tate is survived by her sons William and Jasper Long of Creedmoor; daughters, Brenda Sills of Henderson, Shirley Ayscue of Fuquay Varina, Vickie Goodin of Garner; brother, Frank Watson of Durham; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd. Durham, NC 27703. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’ Shields.
