Mary Walke Beal

DURHAM- Mrs. Mary Walke Beal, 91, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at Hillcrest Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Beal was born June 8, 1928 to the late Butler and Minnie Walke in Granville Co., NC. She was an LPN at John Umstead for 30 years where she retired. Mrs. Beal was a member of Liberty Baptist Church since 1970 and attended the Immanuel Sunday School Class. She loved card games. Mrs. Beal will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Beal is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Beal; parents, Butler and Minnie Walke; brother, Walter Vaiden Walke; sister, Florence Kington and Maggie Boyd.
Mrs. Beal is survived by her son, Roy David Beal; brothers, Henry Thomas Walke, Johnny Lee Walke and Daniel Butler Walke; grandchildren, Lillian Alexandra Ortiz, Catherine Beal Green, Marisa Diane Beal and Jaclyn Danielle Beal.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Liberty Baptist Church, 3864 Guess Road, Durham, NC 27705. A visitation will be held an hour prior from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Scott Gray. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
