BAHAMA – Mrs. Mary Belle Evans Hopkins, 89, a former resident of Bahama, died on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Mrs. Hopkins was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late James C. Evans and Lila Kearney Evans. She owned and operated Hopkins Ceramic Studio in Bahama for 25 years. She attended Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Russell Hopkins; daughter, Ann Hopkins Rowland; brother, James L. “Buddy” Evans and sister, Shirley Ann Ray.
She is survived by her daughter, Loraine Hopkins Ashley of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandchildren, Kimberly R. Browning and Dwight E. Ashley; three great-grandchildren; special nephew, Bishop James L. “Jamie” Evans, Jr. and niece, Terri Tadle.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery. Rev. Larry Bowden will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
