Mary Jane Hayes Copeland

DURHAM- Mrs. Mary Jane Hayes Copeland, 73, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
Mrs. Copeland was born on April 14, 1946 to Russell and Bessie Hayes in Durham, North Carolina. She was a long-time member of Gorman Baptist Church and worked as financial secretary for MGIC corporation. Mary enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by her family.
Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Bessie Hayes; her brother, Edward Hayes; and sisters, Phyllis Minor, and Emily Blankenship. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gerald Copeland; daughters, Karen Henline (Kent) of Atlanta, GA, and Christina Cash of Chicago, IL; 5 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields. A private burial will be held at a later time.
