MORGANDURHAM Mary Fletcher Morgan, (1922-2010) died Monday, July 26, 2010, after a extended illness. She was born in Durham County, the daughter of the late David Wiley Fletcher and Lena Creech Fletcher.Mary was a graduate of Appalachian State University. She was a longtime educator , a music teacher and was certified in elementary through high school education. She taught music in Nash and Wake County. She loved music and served as organist and choir director for many years at the Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She is predeceased by her husband, Calvin W. Morgan, and her brother David W. Fletcher, Jr. She leaves behind one brother, Eugene T. Fletcher and two sisters, Ruby F. Edwards of Durhamand Effie F. Sherron of Creedmoor and many nieces and nephews. Mary is survived by three children, Calvin W. Morgan and wife, Linda; Susan Gillispie and Rebecca Morgan. Mary is survived by three grandchildren, Leslie, Emily and Karen and one great grandchild, Tyler.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Fletchers’ Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Fletchers’ Chapel UMC Cemetery.The family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home in Durham.
