Mary Frances Crabtree Cates

Mrs. Mary Frances Crabtree Cates, 84, passed away Friday October 28, 2022, at Pruitt Health in Elkin, NC.

Mrs. Cates was born August 31, 1938, in Durham, NC to the late William Clifton Crabtree and Mary Tilley. Mary was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and church friends. She enjoyed flowers and loved caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Anthony Eugene Antonelli, Jr.; brother, William Clifton Crabtree; and a sister, Carolyn Tant.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Annette Antonelli Pearce of Wilkesboro, NC, Lorri Antonelli Dolinger (Joe) of Durham NC; grandchildren, Jason Pearce (Kristin), AJ Dolinger (Joy), Kristin Mathis (Anthony), Leslie Pearce and Aaron Scott Dolinger; great grandchildren, Gabriel, Amelia, Brooklyn, Arabella, Isaiah, Zoey, Rose, Hunter and Danielle; and a brother-in-law, Willie Tant.

A visitation will be held at Olive Branch Baptist Church, Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the church. Officiating will be Reverend Tim Wheeler, pastor of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Joe Dolinger, AJ Dolinger, Aaron Dolinger, Jamie Dolinger, Jason Pearce and Gabriel Cox. Honorary pallbearer will be Anthony Mathis.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pruitt Health in Elkin, NC for their loving care during Mrs. Cates stay.
