DURHAM Mrs. Mary Irene Clayton Morris, 85, of Durham, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018.
Mrs. Morris was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Walter Avary Clayton and Ruth Malone Clayton. She retired after 35 years with American Tobacco Company. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and her passion was the Nursery at the church. She had a great love for her family. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Claiborne E. Morris and a sister, Pansy Marlow.
She is survived by her son, Carl E. Morris (Teresa) of Durham; daughter, Marcia M. Williams (Dennis) of Durham; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Doug Walters (Erica), Jesse Walters, Reca Evans (Roger), Roxanne Evans, Rhiannon Oswald, Charlie Sindermann, Mark Morris, Caleb Morris Julie Lacy, Scarlette Lacy, Hannah Williams, Joseph Williams, Tori Williams, Amy Williams, Carl Jones (Josh), Jake, Nathan, Emmett Jones, Matthew Mincey (Samantha) and Seth, Mikayla Williams, John Mincey, Luke Mincey, Steven Williams (Natasha), Claiborne Williams, Jade Williams, Dawn Blake (Tim), Keith Blake (Stacy), Kaylee Blake and Dylan Williams.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Wall Will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
