Mary Magdeline Holleman

DURHAM- Ms. Mary Magdeline Holleman, 90, passed away, Thursday, September 14, 2017.
Ms. Holleman was born in Richmond, VA on February 2, 1927 to the late John and Virginia Talley. Mary worked as a CNA in Home Healthcare for over 20 years. She also worked as a Supervisor for Charlotte Liberty Insurance Company and worked as a Beautician. Mary loved animals especially cats, and used to love to dance. She also enjoyed fishing and walking. Mary will be remembered as a loving mother and “Nanny” to her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Ms. Holleman is preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia Talley; son, David Wayne “Mike” Melton.
Ms. Holleman is survived by her daughters, Barbara Sexton, Mary “Susie” Smith; brother, John C. Talley, Jr. (Jean); sister, Ruth Talley; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields.
