Mary Truesdell

DURHAM-Mary Y. Rochelle Truesdell, 89, of Durham died on Sunday, June 19, 2011. She was the daughter of the late James Benjamin Yates and Mamie Johnson Yates. Mrs. Truesdell retired from Liberty Christian School as a teacher, also a church member of Liberty Baptist. She lived a life of faith and giving to others and taught her children to honor God. She was loved by all the children she taught in school and Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Hidy Rochelle; 1 son, Roy Rochelle; 1 brother, Ervin Yates; 3 sisters, Doris Dunaway, Margaret Cox and Sadie Hester.She is survived by her faithful husband of 20 years, William Truesdell; 1 step-son, Jim Rochelle; 1 daughter, Ann Perkins; 1 brother, James Yates; 2 sisters, Edith Keith and Frances Clark; 3 granddaughters, Christina Crabtree, Jamie Warren and Sarah Garrison; 1 great-granddaughter, Paisley Warren; 3 great-grandsons, Casey and Owen Crabtree and Carter Garrison. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Jack Cox and Rev. Ron Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home, other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable.
