BAHAMA- Master Chief Petty Officer Roy Elliott Sarvis, US Navy (Retired), 67, passed away, Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Hock Family Pavilion.
Mr. Sarvis was born March 13, 1954 to the late Oscar and Mardell Vanhorn Sarvis in Durham, NC. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy where her retired in 1992. Mr. Sarvis attended New Horizon Church for many years. He was a hard worker and took pride in this. He loved his family very much and enjoyed sharing laughs and fun times with them all. Mr. Sarvis loved to fish and traveling to Pigeon Forge on family vacations. He enjoyed working with his children and loved his family. The work ethic and values the he shared with his three sons will forever be cherished. Roy will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sarvis is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Leos and Janice Moore.
Mr. Sarvis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Starr Sarvis; sons, Kenny Sarvis, Jeffrey Sarvis (Angela) and Bryan Sarvis (Dawn); brother, Donald Sarvis; two step-sisters and three step-brothers; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous loving family members and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Hudson Funeral Home will give the public the opportunity to pay their respects and sign the register book Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until visitation, and Thursday 9:00 a.m. until the service.
