DURHAM- Mrs. Mattie Lee Humphreys Tyler, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Hock Family Pavilion.
Mrs. Tyler was born May 4, 1931 to the late Samual and Gladys Humphreys. She was a member of Bethel Christian Center for 37 years. Mrs. Tyler took care of the church’s nursey for 10 years. She enjoyed playing piano, loved taking care of babies and enjoyed activities at the Duke Center for Living. She was the family photographer. Mrs. Tyler will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Tyler is preceded in death by her husband, George Lamar Tyler; brother, Bill Humphreys; sisters, Pat and Ruth Humphreys.
Mrs. Tyler is survived by her sons, Douglas Tyler (Emily) of Oxford, NC and Anthony Tyler of Durham, NC; brother, Melvin Humphreys; granddaughter, Sophie Tyler Mills (Thomas) of Raleigh, NC.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Don Westbrook. A visitation will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. after the service at Hudson Funeral Home.
