Meredith Elaine Thompson, 73, 322 S. Mineral Springs Road, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, in Duke Hospital.Mrs. Thompson was born in Somerville, MA, to the late Andrew Jackson and Anna Doughty Riggsbee. She worked as an in-home healthcare professional. Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by her husband, Bobby Thompson.Surviving are two brothers, James Eugene Riggsbee and wife, Beatrice, of Durham and Arthur Edmond Riggsbee of New Mexico; two sisters, Helen Hancock, of Florida and Joyce Downey and husband, Marvin, of Tennessee; a special sister-in-law, Kathy Riggsbee of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
