Michael Clay Tart

TIMBERLAKE- Mr. Michael Clay Tart, 66, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020.

Mr. Tart was born on January 30, 1954 to the late Erby H. and Bettie Ruth Tart in Durham, NC. He worked for the American Tobacco Company in Durham from 1975 until they closed their doors, while also serving as a Reserve Officer for the Durham Police Department. Michael then worked part-time as a tire specialist at Western Auto and parts specialist at Advance Auto in Durham, NC. He finished his career working at the Division of Motor Vehicles as a driver’s license examiner. Michael was a hardworking man who loved his family deeply.

Mr. Tart is survived by his wife, Teresa Marshburn Tart; his son, Christopher Scott Tart; daughter, Jennifer Tart Taylor (Josh); mother-in-law, Shirley Marshburn; brother-in-law, Ricky Marshburn (Marsia); sister, Sha Brooks; grandson, Wyatt James Taylor; and niece, Caitlin Brooks.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at South Granville Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Reverend Hal Dickerson.

Flowers are acceptable, or memorial contributions can be made to the family.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building and at graveside.
