Michelle Stephenson Smith

SMITHDURHAM Michelle Stephenson Smith, 35, of Durham was suddenly taken from this earth in a car accident on August 25, 2010.She was born on November 24, 1974 in Charleston, S.C. She graduated from Southern High School in Durham and continued her education by obtaining as Associate of Applied Science Degree. She worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at Regional Pediatrics and Granville Medical Center and later trained Medical Assistants in Richmond Virginia. Michelle was pre-deceased by her grandfather, James W. Ellis.Surviving are her son, Kendall Ellis Fletcher, her mother, Betty Ellis Stephenson, grandmother, Ann Ellis; aunt and uncle, Barbara and Vernon Flynn and family.A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home in Durham.The family wishes to thank all of the many friends, family and hospital staff who have so unselfishly given their time and love during the past 2 months.
