DURHAM Mildred Daniels Olive Detweiler awoke on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in her forever home with her Lord and Savior. After a short illness she entered Heaven where she joined the love of her life, Billy Roberts Olive, as well as her parents, Ervin and Rosa Daniels, two siblings, and many others whom she dearly missed.Mildred was born in Durham, N.C. on May 28, 1932. She married Billy Roberts Olive her first grade sweetheart in 1950. Their wonderful years together were spent raising their surviving three children: Michael R. Olive and wife Mary, Terri O. Deans and Kim O. Wimberley and husband Joel. They have seven grandchildren: Wendy C. Boyle and husband Todd, Megan O. Tolan and husband Brent, Adam Deans, Jordan Deans, Mitchell Wimberley, Abigail Olive, Hannah Olive and four great grandchildren: Hunter Tolan, Anderson Boyle, Olivia Tolan and Caleb Boyle. Mildred is also survived by one sister, Wanda Daniels Upchurch Davis of Raleigh N.C. and many beloved nieces and nephews.After the death of her childhood sweetheart the Lord lead her to find love again with her surviving husband, Gerald Detweiler. They have shared the last seven years together and were living at Pittsboro Christian Village. Our mother was a Christian wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved people and always wanted to be in the center of gatherings. She never met a stranger. She was warm and loving and always willing to give the young people in her life encouraging words. She retired from Sperry Electro Components. She later worked at Triangle Technologies. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Dale Brooks and Pastor Rod Sharpe will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens following the service. Pallbearers will be Adam Deans, Jordan Deans, Mitch Wimberley, Brent Tolan, Eddie Detweiler and Bobby Downes.The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., before the services at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East Street, Pittsboro, N.C.27312.
