Mildred Carden “Granny” Jackson

DURHAM Mrs. Mildred Louise Carden “Granny” Jackson, 85, formerly of 8715 Wake Forest Hwy, died on Sunday, October 27, 2013.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Durham, to the late Lundy Buck and Ruby Johnson Carden. She was a homemaker and a member of New Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson.
She is survived by her son, William R. Jackson, Jr. (Kathy) of Durham; daughters, Mildred J. Williams (Don) of Oxford and Mary J. Williams (Thomas) of Durham; brother, Connie Carden of Durham, sister, Lillie Parker of Oxford; four grandchildren, William R. Jackson III (Michelle), Bryan Davis, Tracy Jackola (Jeremiah), Richard Jackson (Meghan) and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Jimmy Pulley will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
