Milton Floyd Hicks, Sr.

HICKS, SR.DURHAM Mr. Milton Floyd Hicks, Sr., 74, of Durham, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2011.Mr. Hicks was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Millard Calvin Hicks and Cora Mae Ellis Hicks. His career started at Freedmans clothing store in Durham and continued with Shoe Show Inc., where he served as Vice-President of the corporation. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a member of the Gideon’s International, North Durham Camp. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Judith Fletcher Hicks, brother, Raymond Hicks and sister, Dorothy Cates.He is survived by his wife, Sandra Hawkins Walker Hicks, three sons, Floyd Hicks, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Wake Forest, Mark Hicks and wife, Amy of Wake Forest and Jon Hicks and wife, Tonya of China Grove; one sister, Alline Sykes of Prospect Hill; grandchildren, Kristi Fowler, Alison Clark, Ragan Stancil, Haylie Hicks and Tiffany Hicks; great-grandchildren, Trey, Chase and Abbie Fowler, Camden and Lukas Clark and Jonah Stancil.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Wall will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
