Minnie Josephine Lynn

Minnie Josephine Lynn, 92, of Franklinton, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. She was born March 3, 1933, in Durham, North Carolina to the late Will and Nettie Smith.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Tommy Lynn and their daughter, LuAnne O’Brient.

Mrs. Lynn started working when she was 14 years old at Woolworth’s in Downtown Durham where she enjoyed meeting and helping people. She then began to work for Canfield’s as an Assembly Worker until she retired.

Minnie was a longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she also worked in the Nursery for many years. She then joined Liberty Baptist Church where she was a longtime and faithful member.

Mrs. Lynn loved her family dearly. Sunday evening meals were very important family time and was preceded by the Saturday trips with Tommy shopping for fresh vegetables and fruits for the meal. She was a selfless woman always making sure everyone was well taken care of. Minnie will be remembered as sweet, loving and wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother who maintained her cute sense of humor even through the toughest times.

Minnie is survived by her sons, Todd Keller (Janice) and Ricky Keller (Ann); daughter, Rita Rayborn (Jerry); brother, Charles Smith (Alice), sisters, Gloria Moorefield and Nancy Williams; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and other loving family members.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703. Pastor Derek Ketner will officiate. Burial will follow at Holloway Family Cemetery in Durham, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Tommy Keller, Steven Keller, Shannon Keller, Landon Pickard, Jason King and Michael O’Brient.
