Minnie O’Briant Chandler, 99, of Pittsboro Christian Village went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 27, 2014. She was born in Granville County, on September 7, 1914, the daughter of the late William and Rosa Lee Bullock O’Briant.
After high school, Minnie came to Durham and graduated from the Watts School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Later, she worked as a nurse at Watts Hospital.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Russell Chandler. She is survived by one brother, John Mitchell O’Brian of Norfolk, Va.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Pittsboro Christian Village Chapel, 1825 East Street, Pittsboro, NC. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Minnie attended the Durham Gospel Center for decades, serving in various capacities. She loved the Lord and was a faithful witness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the benevolent fund of Pittsboro Christian Village, 1825 East St., Pittsboro, NC 27312.
