HIGGINSDURHAM Molly Anne Featherston Higgins, died peacefully at her home at Pittsboro Christian Village and went to meet her Savior on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.Anne was born March 26, 1924 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is a graduate of Durham High School Class of 1942 and attended Croft Business College. She retired after 42 years as a bookkeeper for North Carolina News Company in Durham.She was a member of Grove Park Chapel (formally Gospel Center) for more than 60 years. She loved her church, Ladies Sunday School Class, and her Duke Blue Devil Basketball. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, George (G. T.) Featherston and Myrtle Featherston; three brothers, Bill, Lewis and Tom Featherston; two sisters, Margaret and Jane Featherston and her daughter, Carolyn Higgins Lynam.She is survived by her son, Herbert (Skip) Higgins and wife, Mary of Cary; daughters, Bonnie H. Washburn of Taylor, Utah, and Cathi H. Turner and husband, Tommy of Durham; her son-in-law, Doug Lynam of Durham; grandchildren, Todd, Timmy, Tiffany, Randy Jr., Jennifer, Courtney, Meredith, and Erica; 16 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Rebecca (Becky) Featherston Ferguson and husband, George of Winchester, Va.A service to celebrate Anne’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Grove Park Chapel. Pastors Dale Brooks and Gerald Baker will officiate. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Burchwood Cemetery at 907 Durham Road in Roxboro. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Cathi Turner at 2818 Prospect Parkway, Durham, NC 27703.
