Nancy Marie Baker

DURHAM- Mrs. Nancy Marie O’Neal Baker, 81, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020.

Mrs. Baker was born June 9, 1939 to Edwin and Laura O’Neal in Durham, NC. She served at Duke Hospital for 30 years as Medical Secretary. Nancy loved her church, Page Road Baptist, where she served as bookkeeper for many years. She loved her friends and family dearly, and enjoyed taking care of her children. Nancy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Laura O’Neal, and her brother, Lanny O’Neal. She is survived by her husband, Don W. Baker of Durham, NC; her son, Greg Baker (Kim) of Bahama, NC; daughter, Christie Finch (Adam) of Mebane, NC; and grandchildren, Brad Baker of Spartanburg, SC, Samantha Harris (Brad Skinner), who currently resides in Japan, Sydney Harris of Asheville, NC, and Alexander Evans of Mebane, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Page Road Baptist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Michael Bond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Page Road Baptist Church at 1912 Page Rd, Durham, NC 27703.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
