DURHAM- Mrs. Nancy Jean Willard went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.Nancy spent her last days surrounded by family and friends. All that knew her are blessed with countless, sweet memories of Nancy, that they will cherish forever.Nancy was born on January 17, 1947 in Durham, NC to Tracy and Marie Ellis. She was preceded in death by her father, Tracy Ellis, two brothers, Ronnie Ellis and Tracy Ellis and two sisters, Gay Turner and Sue Knott.Nancy is survived by her husband, her true love of 57 years, John Willard, mother, Marie Ellis, 2 brothers, Jackie Ellis (wife Teresa), Billy Ellis (wife Janice), 3 children, son, John Willard, Jr. (fiancé Christie) of Smithfield, son, Ricky Willard (wife Regina), of Timberlake, Ann O’Quinn (husband Mike) of Durham, 9 grandchildren, John Willard, III, Christina (Brandon), Samantha (Jeffrey), Nick, Megan, Mikie (Shelby), Kendall, Josh and Dylan, 6 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nolan, Aiden, Lexi, Katie and Caroline.Prior to her decline in health, Nancy and her husband John ran many stores and grills in Durham. She was known for her wonderful biscuits and hot dogs. More importantly, she was known for the love that she showed to everyone that she met. Nancy also served as a supervisor at the Durham Exchange and truly blessed all that she came into contact with. She was a member of Faith Harvest Church.Nancy loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. You always knew and felt the unconditional affection that she had for so many. She never hesitated to stop and pray for a friend, family member, or stranger in need.Matthews 25:21 His Master said to him “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your Master.”A visitation will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Faith Harvest Church, 4737 Willeva Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Officiating will be Pastor Brad Wiggs. Pallbearers will be John Willard, Jr., Ricky Willard, Jackie Ellis, Billy Ellis, Mikie O’Quinn, Joshua O’Quinn, Todd Crabtree, and Larry Smith.
