Nettie “Rebekah” Nice

Durham- Nettie Rebekah Nice, 86, of Durham passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Jonathan and Ida Zook. Rebekah was active in her Church and Meals on Wheels. She was a Teacher in Elementary School for many years, and was also a Daycare provider in her home. Rebekah loved sewing, quilting, enjoyed having friends in her home, scripture memorization and singing. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bennie Zook.
She is survived by her loving husband, B. Lloyd Nice of the home; sons, Joseph D. Hessnice (Sally) of Graham, Keith B. Nice (Tami) of Graham and Kevin L. Nice (Marcia) of Durham; daughter, Carol N. Detweiler (Glenn); brother, Leo Zook (Mim) of Oregon; sisters, Sara Newcomer of Colorado and Erma Yoder (Bill) of Indiana, eight grandchildren, Luke Hessnice, Leah Hessnice, Byron Detweiler, Rachel Detweiler, Jacob Nice, Andrew Nice, Joanna Nice and Jonathan Nice.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Durham Mennonite Church, 603 Lynn Rd. Durham. Pastor Spencer Bradford will officiate. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Luke Hessnice, Jacob Nice, Jonathan Nice, Byron Detweiler, Andrew Nice and son-in-law, Glenn Detweiler.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home.
