Nita Rose Wallace Sikes

SIKESDURHAM Mrs. Nita Rose Wallace Sikes, 98, former resident of JFK Towers, passed away at Britthaven of Chapel Hill, on Monday, January 3, 2011.Mrs. Sikes was born in Wendell N. C. to the late James Monroe and Daisy Pearl Williams Wallace. She attended Horton Road Church of God. She was a caring wife and mother who regularly attend church and was always there for her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. Sikes and a daughter, Barbara Sherron.She is survived by her two sons, Douglas Ray Sikes and wife, Betsy of Durham and Robert Louis Sikes of Timberlake; one daughter, Sally Hunt of Durham and two grandchildren, David Hunt, Jay Sikes and wife, Amy, and 2 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 noon at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Joseph Leonard. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Curtis Sikes, Arthur Daniels, Robert Lloyd, Jerry Phillips, John Russell and Larry Strickland.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 to 12 p.m. , before the service at Hudson Funeral Home.
