Otis King, Jr.

DURHAM- Mr. Otis King, Jr., 83, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Mr. King was born on December 25, 1937 to Otis and Clemma King in Vale, NC. Otis was a Golden Glove Boxer, a bowling league, and the Bull City Street Rod Association in Durham. He used to work for Wright’s Machinery, SH Bass Knights and Sons in Chapel Hill, and more recently owned AOK Lock Service in Durham, NC. Otis enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed designing and creating tinker toys. Otis will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved his family.

Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Annette S. King in 2020; and brother, Kenneth Dwight King.

Mr. King is survived by his daughters, Sharyn Bryant (David) of Durham, NC, and Teresa King (Chester Senter) of Durham, NC; son, Tony King of Durham, NC; siblings, Mary Lou Wood of Vale, NC, Clyde Ellis King of Vale, NC, Sue King Setzer of Morganton, NC, Ruby King Webb of Morganton, NC, Bobbi Furtado Potter of Morganton, NC, Johnny Charles King of Durham, NC, Kathy King Wilson of Morganton, NC; grandchildren, Shannon Bryant (Dale), Jeffery Bryant, Joshua Bryant (April), Andy Buchanan (Lauren), Joey Buchanan, and Anthony Jones (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Alex Buchanan, Will Buchanan, Kyle Buchanan, Suzzy Buchanan, Shane Jones, Bentley Jones, Sheae Jones, Eli Buchanan, Savanna Buchanan, Tucker Buchanan, OcTavia Buchanan.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Nathanial Urshan and Bishop Johnny Godair. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
