Ernest Lee Burch

DURHAM Pastor Ernest Lee Burch, 93, of Durham, died on Saturday, April 22, 2017.
Pastor Burch was born in Orange County, the son of the late James Harvey Burch and Nancy Deset Dawson Burch. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and the Bethesda Ruritan Club. He loved gospel and bluegrass music; Durham Bulls Baseball games and in his younger days he loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Omie Rigsbee Burch, brothers, Harvey, Clarence and Bill Burch and a sister, Lillie Woods.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Chisenhall-Burch; son Ronnie Burch of Durham; sister-in-law, Claudean Burch of Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Tommy Fletcher, Chad Pearce, John Sellars, Ronnie Garner, Charlie Kearney and Gerald Gutton.
