Beloved father, pastor, brother, and friend, Kimble Nathan Pope entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at age 59 on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
He was Born on October 22, 1964, third son of the late Arthur Lee and Althea Olita Pope in Sacramento, California. His early years were spent in Sacramento CA, Seattle WA, and Cloverdale CA.
As a young man Kimble attended Cloverdale High School, where he was a starter on the state championship basketball team in 1983 and 1984.
After graduating high school, Kimble entered the family trade of drywall finishing.
Subsequently, upon meeting his spiritual mentor Pastor George Everett, he heard and followed the Lords call into ministry. Kimble’s spiritual journey led him to faithfully serve the Lord in various communities including Rancho Cordova, Fresno, Bakersfield, Cloverdale, Roseville and North Sacramento. Kimble was best known for sharing the love of Jesus with people. He spent the last two years of his life serving as pastor of RTP Community Church in Durham, North Carolina.
Kimble is survived by his daughter Hannah Beatrice Pope-Vargas, husband Chandler, beloved granddaughter Lana Antonia, his Son Luke Arthur Pope, his daughter Brooke Althea Pope, and his son James Jude Pope. His brothers James Earl Pope, wife Darlene, Timothy Lee Pope, wife Dorothy, and his sisters Sonia Carolyn Daugherty and Heidi Christina Ferreiro, husband Lonny.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12 PM, with the funeral to follow at 1 PM at RTP Community Church 1727 Ed Cook Road, Durham NC 27703. Lifelong friend, Pastor Rodney Brown, officiating.
