STEM Mrs. Pauline Allen Ayscue Rigsbee, 86, of Stem, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. She had lived in Durham since 1960, until recently moving to Stem.
Mrs. Rigsbee was born in Vance County, the daughter of the late David Ayscue and Val Journigan Ayscue. She retired from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company. She was a member of Faith Harvest Church. She loved to cook and enjoyed caring for other people. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicky Lavern Fowler; brothers, Jack Ayscue and Hubert Ayscue and sisters, Jane A. Arnold and Christine Williams.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Gene Rigsbee and wife, Debbie; brothers, William Henry Ayscue and Buck Ayscue; sisters, Helen A. Parham and Neta Mae A. White; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Brad Wiggs will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Wayne Rigsbee, Gary Rigsbee, Josh Taylor, Ricky M. Rigsbee, Al Smith and Rodney Rigsbee. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike and Aaron Fowler.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregiver, Tracy Taylor; also a special thank you to the Senior Center of Henderson, Helen Parham and family and Faith Harvest Church family.
