Pearl Seagroves Rorie

DURHAM- Mrs. Pearl Seagroves Rorie, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2020.
Mrs. Rorie was born on June 28, 1926 to Delmer and Bessie Mae Seagroves in Durham, NC. Pearl was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and member of the Columbus Club of Durham. She loved to read, loved flowers and birds. Pearl will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Rorie was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Bessie Seagroves; husband, Harvey W. Rorie; and son, Douglas Rorie. She is survived by her son, Delmer Rorie; daughter-in-law, Debra Rorie; sister, Jackie Holt; grandchildren, Austin Douglas Rorie (Meghan), and Blair Rorie Brown (Justin); and great-grandchildren, Carter Brown, Cooper Brown, Baylor Brown, Tilghman Rorie, and Mary Crawford Rorie.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Bryan Nelson. Burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
