Peggy Jean Harris

DURHAM- Mrs. Peggy Jean Lloyd Harris, 84, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020.

Mrs. Harris was born on February 2, 1936 to Eugene and Florrie Lloyd in Durham, NC. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and worked as a volunteer with Contact Teleministry. Peggy loved to travel, especially going on trips to Myrtle Beach with her family, and reading the Bible in her spare time. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Florrie Lloyd; her husband, Howard Clinton Harris; and sisters, Emma Lou Goodwin, Myrtle Hartley, and Joyce Ann McLester.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her daughter, Karen Denise Harris Ladd (Don) of Durham, NC; granddaughter, Jennifer Nicole Ladd Martin (Stuart); and great-grandson, Camden Martin.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend David Trump. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Don Ladd, Stuart Martin, Blane Latta, Mark Teasley, and Caleb Hagwood.
