Peggy Glover Horton

Peggy Joyce Glover Horton, 89, of Durham Co, passed away March 14, 2023, at Hock Family Pavilion.

Mrs. Horton was born on May 5, 1933, in Franklin Co, N.C. to the late Ceba and Ruth Glover.

Mrs. Horton was known for how much she cared for others. She worked as a machine operator at Liggett & Meyers for 31 years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Horton is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Marshall L. Horton; daughter, Patsy Horton Champion; brothers, Kenneth and Earl Glover; and grandchildren, John Horton, Corey Horton, and Chad Champion.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Horton of Durham; sisters, Betty Taylor of Durham and Alice Ray of Siler City, N.C.; grandchildren, Marshall Shane Horton (Carmen), Page Sheppard (Hugh); great-grandchildren, Lilly Horton, Tiffany Sheppard, Sheldon Hicks, Kiley Sheppard, Kenady Sheppard, Tyler Tippett, and Dale Barbour.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A private Burial will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to the son, Jerry Horton.
