Peggy Cates Ray

WAKE FOREST Mrs. Peggy Lou Cates Ray, 85, of Wake Forest, died on Monday, January 23, 2017.
Mrs. Ray was born in Durham, the daughter of the late Alfred Benton Cates and Helen Roma Stanfield Cates. She retired from General Telephone Company. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading and was a very good cook. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and she loved her Cocker Spaniel, Jasmine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Ray, brothers, Alfred Benton Cates, Jr., Jack Cates, Jerry Cates, JB Cates and a sister, Mary Ware.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Moore and wife, Carol of Creedmoor, Michael Moore and wife, Mary of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Logan Moore, Jacob Moore, Jonathan Moore, Levi Moore, Joshua Moore (Vickie) and Luke Moore (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Lola Moore and Logan Moore.
