WAKE FOREST Mrs. Peggy Woodall McAlexander, 82, of Wake Forest, died on Monday, January 7, 2013. She was a native of Wake County, the daughter of the late Charles Daylon Woodall and Virginia Brown Woodall. She worked for McLean Trucking Company and retired from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company. She owned and operated The Little Rebel Grocery Store in Oak Grove. She loved the beach and previously had retired to Surf City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. McAlexander, Jr.She is survived by her two sons, Charles McAlexander and wife, Gerri and Eddie McAlexander and wife, Regina; five grandchildren, Kelly McAlexander, Johnny McAlexander, Ashley Howey and husband, Fred, Heather McAlexander, Daylon McAlexander and 6 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Katie, Caroline, Grayson, Kaycee and Raegan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.Active pallbearers will be Kelly McAlexander, Johnny McAlexander, Daylon McAlexander, Fred Howey, David Williams and Kevin Lascalette.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of Eddie McAlexander, 9037 Watershed Way in Wake Forest and also on Thursday, before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
