Phyllis Hayes Minor

On June 6th 2013, Phyllis Minor (nee Hayes) passed away in Northern Virginia.
Phyllis, the daughter of Russell and Bessie King Hayes, was born and raised in
Durham, NC. She was a graduate of Durham High. In 1951 she married James Arnold
Minor also of Durham. Phyllis was a long time resident of Annandale, Virginia
and retired from the CIA in 1992. She was preceded in death by her husband
“Jim,” granddaughter Jillian, and sister Emily Blankenship. She is survived by
her children, Cathy of Colorado Springs, CO, James Jr. of Stem NC, and Michael
of Annandale, VA. She is also survived by her brother Eddie Hayes and sister
Mary Jane Copeland, both of Durham NC, as well as by her grandchildren, Tracie,
Corrie, Jason, and Cheryl. She had seven great grandchildren, as well as many
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at The Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Phyllis and Jim will be reunited following the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham NC. Family will receive friends  prior to the service from 1:00- 1:45 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers
are welcome and accepted, as well donations to breast cancer research in her
memory.
