Phyllis Ferrell West

Phyllis Ferrell West, 80, of Creedmoor, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2022.  Phyllis was born on June 7, 1942.  She is preceded in death by her parents, John Rufus and Virginia Marks Ferrell; paternal grandparents, John Green Ferrell, and Lelia Mangum Ferrell; maternal grandparents, James Edward Marks and Beatrice Rice Marks; and brother, Norman Ferrell.

Phyllis is survived by her children, sons, Kenneth West (Carrie) and Scott West (Joy); daughter, Wendy Jones (Rodney); brothers, Rick Ferrell (Anne Marie) and John Ferrell (Dana); sisters, Immogene Ragan Dixon (Homer) and Candy Finley (Harold); grandchildren, John Robert West, Annie West, Connor West, Hunter West, London Gleason, Jordon Gleason, Luke Gleason, Alexander Jones, and Madison Jones.

Phyllis worked as a floral designer for 42 years and worked at IBM and Tropical Tan & Hair Salon.  She attended Grove Park Chapel, formerly the Gospel Center and in her later years, Living Word Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, going to church, and working in her yard. Her first love and greatest accomplishment was as a mother, the love for her children and grandchildren. Of course, she could not have been such an outstanding mother, without also being a wonderful sister and exceptional friend. Although she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort knowing she is at peace in heaven with the Lord. She will be forever loved!

Pallbearers will be John Robert West, Hunter West, Connor West, Alexander Jones, Luke Gleason, and Cody Milko.

A Funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Rod Sharp.  Interment will be held at South Granville Memorial Gardens following the service at 1:30 p.m.
