Rannie Pendergrass Hilton

DURHAM Rannie Pendergrass Hilton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Coye and Rannie Pendergrass, and her sister, Pamela Turner. She is survived by her husband, Truman Hilton, and by her three children, Joe Hilton, and wife Tanja, along with their three children, Anastasia, Clara and Jeshua; Ramona Oakley, and husband Robbie, along with their three children, Elizabeth, Daniel and Steven, and James Hilton, and wife Bobretta, along with their two children, Brandon and Lauryn. She is also survived by her brother, Coye Pendergrass, Jr. and wife Elaine, along with their two children, Kaylee and Sierra, and her nephews Thomas and Michael Turner.
Rannie was a lifelong resident of Durham. She graduated from Southern High School in 1962, and received her BS in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 1966. She taught school for fifteen years, and then began working at PIP Printing on Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. Later, she and her husband purchased the printing company and changed the name to Grapevine Print & Design, where she worked until she retired.
There will be no formal services held. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the home from noon until 5 pm daily. Any donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, MADD, or any charity of your choosing. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
