Rayburn Vaughn Moore

DURHAM Mr. Rayburn Vaughn Moore, 79, of Durham, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 09, 2015.
Mr. Moore was born in Harnett County to the late Victor Vaughn and Beatrice Moore Vaughn. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp and was a retired Carpenter and Auto Mechanic. He was a member of the Old Fashion Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mr. Moore loved golf, trains and fishing with his Pastor and was a member of the USGA. He enjoyed his beloved bird and companion “Smokey Moore”. He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Anthony “Tony” Vaughn.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Loretta Walton Moore, son, Keith Vaughn and wife, Lisa of Pine Level, NC; two daughters, Shelia V. Creech and husband, Rick of Princeton, NC; Phyllis V. Hudson and husband, Warren of Selma, NC; 6 grandchildren, Karen V. Wessberg, Dusty Creech Ferrell, Kimberly V. Hardwick, Brandon Vaughn, Ashley Gibbons and Brian Vaughn; 7 great-grandchildren, Kasey Wright, Madison Wright, Lexie Gibbons, Maggie Ferrell, Ethan Hardwick, Tyler Hardwick and Patrick Wessberg.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Bill Lawrence and Pastor Matthew Walton will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Billy Marshall, Erik Wessberg, Tony Ferrell, Ricky Glenn, Chris Brown, Wally Tinsley and Kenny Allison.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
