CREEDMOOR Ray C. Erexson, 63 of 2117 Cedar Creek Road, Creedmoor, passed away to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.Ray was born to the late Jessie and Goldie Exerson on December 28, 1947 and grew up in Durham.He served in the U.S. Navy. Ray was employed with Phillips Electric Product/ Recovery Management. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 16 years Denise Erexson, his father-in-law, Cecil Richardson of his home; stepson, Steve Burgess of Raleigh and sister-in-law, Barbara Richardson Burg of Charlotte.Ray will be greatly missed by his Golden Retriever, Dixie. He was an avid deer hunter and a member of the Tara Hunting Club. Ray enjoyed the companionships and friendships that developed when he joined and rode with the Durham Harley Owner Group. He loved the many trips they all rode together. The Erexson family would like to thank all the Duke Doctors and nurses that assisted him in unit 8300 and the Hospice team that assisted in his home care. A special thank you to his boss and friend, Bob Phillips and his coworkers at Phillips Electric. Denise would like to thank Ray’s special friends, Glen and Sandra Rambeaut and Gregg and Terry Drake for all their love and support during this time and to her friend, Roberta Ehlers of California for her support.The family will receive visitors at his home on Saturday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Online condolences can be made to www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
