Richard Jack Carr

WAKE- Richard Jack Carr, 69, of Cary passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015. He was a native of Durham, after retiring from the Durham Police Department in 2001, he moved to Cary where he lived for 14 years. He was the son of the late Bill and Irene Carr. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, he had a passion for aviation and held a seat at the Civil War Round Table. He was an avid collector of Military Memorabilia, enjoyed the Atlanta Braves and jogging. Richard will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He was a member of New Horizons Fellowship and was of the Baptist faith. Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Stauffacher.
He is survived by his children, Brandi Carr of Wake Forest; Richard Jordan Carr (Melissa) of AZ; and step-daughter, Holly Olive (Kenneth) of Wake Forest; sister, Betty Lou Farrell (Jim); grandchildren, Branson Sheppard, Maddox Wheeley, Aly, Leah, Aerobella Carr and other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Sr. Pastor Ray Wickham of New Horizons Fellowship. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
